Creating opportunities for students to engage in a range of physical activity contributes to their wellbeing.
To help teachers and school leaders think about different ways to encourage their students to be active, and the social, emotional, and cognitive learning students gain from being be active, it's important that schools and鈥痥ura鈥痳eview their鈥痯hysical activity culture. Reviewing your approaches can help you better connect the opportunities you provide to students and your school's or kura's values and goals.
The following pages give information and resources for teachers and school leaders to help them to explore and trial new ideas and to make those changes last.
The resources are based on learnings from Play.sport, a pilot collaboration led by 桃子直播 to improve the quality of physical education, sport, physical activity and play experiences in schools, as well as connection between schools and their communities. The initiative was delivered between 2015 and 2019 across 45 schools and their wider communities. The learning captured through Play.sport was fundamental to informing the development of Healthy Active Learning.
